When Hannah told me she was a dancer, I immediately knew we had to incorporate movement into her senior session. I told her to bring her ballet shoes and we headed to Blackstone River and Canal Heritage State Park in August, where summer was still in full swing with its golden fields and lush greenery..

Maddie’s senior portrait session at Ashley Reservoir had that golden-hour glow that makes everything feel cinematic. We wandered the woods and water’s edge, chasing that last bit of summer warmth. Maddie brought her mom and sister along for the ride, which meant we got to sneak in some beautiful multi-generational magic (and a healthy amount of group laughter that had nothing to do with my posing instructions and everything to do with sisterly side commentary).
From soft forest paths to mirror-like reflections, Maddie moved through each spot like she was born to be in that light — casual, radiant, and full of ease. Every senior session is a little celebration of who someone is right now, and this one felt like an ode to strength, softness, and having your people close by to cheer you on — or at least make fun of your "serious face" between shots.

Jordan's senior portraits in Jamestown RI
Senior sessions hit different when you’re photographing family. Jordan—my cousin’s daughter and all-around powerhouse—wanted a session that felt like her, so we spent an August evening in Jamestown, RI chasing golden-hour light and beachy vibes. We started at Mackerel Cove Beach, where she fully embraced the summer glow, and then moved to the cliffs at Beavertail State Park for those windswept, cinematic moments.
But Jordan isn’t just about soft sunset moments—she’s a go getter. She plays lacrosse, cheers, and casually plans to become a pilot (because why not aim high, literally?) She brought her lacrosse uniform, stick, and cheer gear, so after the sun dipped, we switched it up. I used a main flash and backlighting with a gel in her team color and some atmospheric spray to create those bold, dramatic shots—highly recommend for photographers looking to add depth and intensity to night portraits. The result? Jordan looking like she just stepped off an olympic poster.
Beyond the photos, I’m just ridiculously proud of her. She’s got that rare combo of determination, kindness, and quietly crushing everything she sets her mind to. Here’s to big dreams, late-summer sunsets, and making it all look effortless.

Hallie and James’ late spring wedding at The BARN at Liberty Farms was the kind of celebration that unfolds like a perfect song: a little slow and sweet at the start, then full-blown joyful chaos by the second chorus. After a cozy, pizza-fueled welcome dinner at the venue’s glampsite….
