John grew up spending summers in Edgartown, a charming old port town on Martha's Vineyard. When he started dating Megan, it became one of their regular spots for summer fun and relaxation. One day they decided to hike up Great Rock, one of the island's many nature preserves. Megan was enjoying the view of the Vineyard Sound from the top when John got down on one knee. It was only natural for them to return to the island for a breezy summer wedding on the coast!
Megan and John's day was filled with sweet traditions, summer nature in bloom, and east coast elegance - with personal touches throughout: John has spent a lot of time fishing with family and friends, so his brother made boutonnieres out of saltwater fly-fishing flies. Megan had fresh herbs added to the bouquets to reflect her love for cooking, and her mother, sister, and grandmother baked Italian cookies for the reception.
After a Catholic ceremony at the beautiful St. Elizabeth's Parish, a horse-drawn carriage (surprise arranged by John's mom!) took the newlyweds over to Lighthouse Beach for photos. Megan fearlessly climbed to the top of the lighthouse in stilettos (she made it look easy!) and they made the day for everyone else at the top. After some alone time, they walked across the street to join their guests for a relaxed garden party and dinner at the Harbor View Hotel. A booming dance party followed, to the lively performance of an amazing local band.
Congrats to Megan, John, and everyone who helped make their day so special!
