Meet the Griswolds
We're Matt and Paulette, partners in life and business.
We met in 2004 when we worked for the same portrait studio. A wedding, two dogs, and many adventures later, we’re still pursuing the arts together and still pausing to snack along the way.
Paulette: lead photographer
Visually, my style is natural and cinematic with a touch of arthouse. But my approach is to keep the whole process laid back so that there are plenty of authentic moments for me to capture. Ultimately, I want you to enjoy your day- and to look a your photos and feel like you’re there all over again. To me, your day is not a photo shoot where you happen to get married, it’s a wedding where you happen to have someone documenting it beautifully.
I’ve been a full-time wedding photographer since 2015. At this point I’ve photographed hundreds (literally, over 200) weddings and it still gives me butterflies. That’s how I know it’s the right work for me. The fact that people still get together to celebrate love in all forms is something worth remembering. Most of all, I love meeting people who value creativity, meaningful connections, and having fun.
When I’m not using my camera, I’m usually creating in a different way- painting, sewing, making Spotify playlists, and tackling any craft project I can get my hands on. If I’m not making art, I’m absorbing it by going to concerts and watching my favorite films and TV shows, studying the beauty in art as storytelling.
Matt: behind the scenes
We started on this journey together in 2015. Now Matt helps out with the biz part-time: helping with album design, sometimes joining on shoots to assist, sometimes he’s the one cleaning, organizing and charging up all the gear when I’m out on another job (or snuggling on the couch with our pups). He always has my back when life gets hectic, and is always ready to run through ideas with me when I need a thoughtful ear. When he’s not helping me with Novella, he’s working as a music community manager for a tech company, which brings us both to lots of music festivals all over the world.

We're based in Western Massachusetts, but we've photographed weddings all over the US and abroad. We love new places, so we'd be thrilled to drive, fly, hike or sail to any destination you need. We're on the road a lot and we're serious about adventure, so no request is too outrageous.
