Sarah and Andrew met because they shared the same circle of friends in college. They got engaged while on a picnic after spending the day together outdoors. Sarah said that once they decided to have their best friend marry them in this gorgeous spot surrounded by mountains and loved ones, the rest of the wedding planning fell into place.
With its private hilltop, historic barn, scenic views, and friendly goats, the Hill Farm Inn instantly won our hearts. We already wanted to stay forever, but Sarah and Andrew's day kept offering unique moments and fun surprises that gave us so much to capture and more to love!
The laughing and crying began with getting ready at the bed & breakfast (Sarah is hilarious, and her mom broke out the tissues as soon as she got into that dress). In a cottage across the way, Andrew got ready with his friends and other members of the Vance family (his whole suit was custom tailored -- check out that embroidered collar). They met for a "first look" under a willow tree and their ceremony offered a great view of the mountains, the silo, and Andrew's brightly colored socks.
After photos and drinks, they passed out little flags and led their guests down the hill with the help of a saxophonist playing "Oh When the Saints"! This spontaneous parade was the perfect way to get guests down to the reception area. A thunderstorm showed up just in time for dinner under a tent, and the final surprise was orchestrated by everyone BUT the newlyweds: a fake power outage on the dance floor kicked off a flash mob performed by the bridal party -- to the tune of Thriller.
It was truly an honor to capture the fruit of so much hard work, talent, and most of all, love.
