One day, Kyle took a train in to Brooklyn on his own to see a small $5 basement punk rock show. Kate also went to this show alone, driving her car in from New Jersey. They started talking, and when it came time for Kyle to leave early to take the last train, he asked if instead, Kate would drive him (a stranger) home (he happened to live in New Jersey too). Luckily a bold decision led to lots of good times together, including a trip to Philadelphia where Kate said “I love you” for the first time. They got an apartment together in Norwalk, CT and a corgi mix named Slam. Kyle eventually took her back to that same hotel room in Philly and popped the big question.
For their wedding, they picked out the quaint New England town of Washington and got married on the downtown green in drizzly weather. After a ceremony full of tears and laughter they walked across the street to shake up this historic hill town of western Connecticut with an evening of loose feet and pelvic thrusts (that would drive you insaa-aane)! The community dance atmosphere of Washington Club Hall was perfect for a reception that felt both intimate and buzzing with playful, joyous energy. We had a blast capturing a day full of so much personality and fun!
Congrats Kate and Kyle, and thank you for choosing us to capture your day!
