Artsy DIY Wedding at Bittersweet Farm
Experiencing Amanda & Matt's wedding was like walking around inside their love story. They met on a 10-hour first date (!!) which included visits to an art gallery, an antique shop, a comic book store, and a coffee house. I have a feeling they could have continued on to the Book Barn from there, but they saved that for their second date.
Amanda decided to draw inspiration from these spaces and decorate the already rustic Bittersweet Farm with her own creations: "floral" centerpieces crafted from pages of books written by their favorite authors, handmade votives, colorful paper flowers hanging from the arbor, and matchboxes decorated with classic book cover designs. They added vintage and art-inspired details, like a card catalog seating chart and lots of "love bird" accents throughout. Amanda decoupaged her bridesmaids' shoes with more book pages and hand-painted their DIY photo booth. After the ceremony, they changed into sneakers: Amanda's had art on them from Hayao Miyazaki, and Matt's featured his favorite graphic novel, Sandman.
The personality and imagination goes on from there! Music was another big connection they had when they met, so they compiled all of their favorite Queen lyrics about love and made that the final reading during their ceremony.
Not only were these details insanely impressive, but watching their family members react and take part in such a personal event was truly special. And the most memorable part of their day was this: despite so many things going on around them, from the moment he turned around during their "first look," Matt couldn't stop staring at Amanda all day long.
Be sure and scroll through to the end to witness for yourself Amanda's endless creativity, and the wealth of love that surrounded these two on this incredible day!
