We're celebrating the New Year with some of our favorite dance moments from 2017. We're so grateful for all of these party animals that made our year great. Turn your speakers up and dance with us into 2018!
Kate and Olivia are getting married next year on the coast of Maine, so we met up with them in their Brooklyn neighborhood and wandered the city near Brooklyn Bridge for their engagement session. Kate dressed in the perfect sparkly tone for Jane's Carousel. I told them to hold really still, experimenting with my shutter speed, and BOOM! This shot just happened. I have to give Kate props for her posing skills, which probably come from the fact that she is a badass photographer too! Can't wait to capture their day next fall.
Hello, fall! The combination of rustic tones, elegant design, stunning views and straight up ROMANCE made Susie and Brian's wedding day feel like a real-life fairytale. Susie's creative vision started with the historic and natural atmosphere of the Fruitlands Museum, with a ceremony overlooking acres of fall foliage at sunset. Warm light echoed from one metallic detail to the next, complimented by rich florals and natural accents throughout. Even the DIY parts felt unreal: they hand-poured maple syrup from a family farm as favors for their guests, and Susie did all of the handwritten signage and calligraphy on the escort cards.
The New England autumn goodness began when guests were offered cider and donuts before being seated on the hill for the ceremony. Just as they said "I do," the sun started dipping into the horizon, and we went right into a photo walk as as the light shifted from warm hues into the soft purple twilight. Dinner and toasts followed under a tent, where the enchanting theme continued. They added personal touches, too: a "world map" for guests to sign (a nod to Brian's proposal in Europe) and a photo garland of old family wedding photos (obviously a favorite detail of ours!) The newlyweds danced into the night with their families and friends, sharing tons of sweet and lively moments. Congrats to this very happy couple!

We were so excited for Alex and Felicia's day to finally come- a full year after their engagement session, when we wandered around the Boston Public Garden and the North End, and learned just how sweet and in love they are. We were also very happy to return to Mount Hope Farm, a historic spot that includes a bed & breakfast, lush gardens and an old barn.
Felicia and Alex created the perfect blend of traditional and fresh wedding vibes. Starting with a palette of rich "New England fall" colors and letting nature inspire the rest of the decor, they added their own touches of DIY - like terrarium favors and a trellis built by a friend. Candles everywhere and the pie-and-donut dessert spread contributed to a warm & cozy feel.
They added lots of fun, too- beer brewed by Alex's brother (with a custom "MARRIED AF" label), lawn games, and a very competitive game of limbo (scroll for some impressive backward bends!). Toward the end of the night, we looked outside and saw a mist forming, so we grabbed the newlyweds and took a quick walk for moody photos by the street lamps. Such a dreamy way to end a gorgeous day full of loving moments. Congrats to this wonderful couple!

Kate and Kyle met at a punk rock show in Brooklyn, where they spent most of their time at the start of their relationship. We figured it would be great to revisit the area and roam around DUMBO with them for their engagement session. We started at St. Anne's Warehouse and made our way along the river, ending at Pebble Beach. The beautiful day brought out some huge crowds (and lots of brides and grooms for wedding portraits!) but they had no problem keeping their eyes on each other. We are so excited for their big day in 2018!
We met Jillian and Jeff through Matt Forcier, a talented wedding videographer and all-around awesome human being that we had the pleasure of working with before. He's married to Jill's twin sister Heather, and he was asked to officiate their wedding. We were honored to receive his recommendation and so excited to spend the day with this fantastic group!
When we met Jeff and Jill, they described their wedding as a laid-back party on a family farm, and we knew it would be perfect for them. The whole day took on the kind of energy they have as people: easygoing, natural and fun. The festivities began with a "first look" over the sand dunes behind a Cape Cod cottage, followed by a quick portrait walk on the beach with their bridal party. We headed over to her uncle's tree farm for the ceremony, where Heather walked Jill down the aisle and Matt surprised the couple by having them take an celebratory shot of Irish whiskey. After some delicious BBQ & toasts under a tent, we walked around the farm for some sunset photos and the bonfire was lit. After dark, the barn party began- and Mo Bounce worked up a dance RIOT that lasted all night long.
We felt so grateful to be there to document all of the sweet and wild moments throughout the day, and to receive such a warm welcome by this couple and everyone connected to them. Thank you and CONGRATS to Mr. & Mrs. O'Neil!
