Lake Bomoseen Island Wedding
Laurel and Amy secretly planned to propose to each other at the SAME place and time, and if that’s not cute enough, their two dogs were with them for their whole engagement hike / picnic and throughout their adventurous wedding day.
Lake Bomoseen Lodge had boats going back and forth from the mainland to this tiny wooded island, bringing Amy, Laurel and all of their guests to and from the ceremony. Following drinks and snacks by the water, everyone headed into the woodsy lodge for a delicious dinner and a magical reception. Amy and her dad danced to a Ben Folds Five song (we later chatted with him and learned he was a huge fan), and for Laurel’s dance with her dad, they added a family member during each verse: first her mom, then each of her siblings, then Amy, then each of Amy’s family members until they were all swaying in a big group hug together. Seriously… does it get any sweeter???
“We like to laugh, to get dirty, to play with the dogs and are Proud to be an Open LGBTQIA+ couple and wanted the Pride in our love to shine on our wedding day/ in our decor without it being the primary theme. We find our connection and spirituality in nature and wanted our ceremony to take place in the trees. Our officiant and friend (slash spiritual badass), Katie, is well connected to energies and the beautiful outdoor playground of Vermont and we knew she would help us and our guests get centered and grounded in the woods to celebrate.”
Their friend Sylwia put together a gorgeous wonderland of florals and decor, and the dance party was kicked off with a surprise flash mob presented by their loved ones, with the flower girls leading the choreography.
Many many congrats to Amy, Laurel, Teddy and Scout!
