1970's Pagan Viking Wedding
As lovers of nature, fans of "Game of Thrones," and with Jessica's employment history at Medieval Manor, she and Dave went for an intimate and magical winter wedding they knew their friends and family would never forget.
Renting a secluded space that would house their closest family members in the mountains of Vermont, they shoveled out a path to an area for a bonfire in the woods. The inside was decorated with lots of rich texture and woodsy accents. Dave and his groomsmen wore ruffled tuxedos in jewel tones, the bridesmaids wore fur wraps, and Jessica stayed warm in a white cape over her timeless jewel-studded gown. The vibe was a combination of moody mysticism and groovy funk that kept us happy and inspired all night long!
Starting with a first look in the front yard (don't miss Dave's AMAZING reaction), everyone gathered for portraits and final preparations and then proceeded into the woods for the ceremony. Here, Jessica & Dave included their closest loved ones in Pagan rituals including the calling of the four corners, handfasting, and a "wish spell" in which everyone threw a pinecone into the fire, the coating creating flames in green and blue.
We stayed out just after dark to capture some alone time by the fire, then headed inside to warm up with some mulled wine, dinner, trivia, and of course lots of dancing. We were so honored to document everything that made this day so incredibly special and to be welcomed by so many good people. Many congrats to Dave, Jess, and their families!
